Welcome to Cookie Coma, where every cookie tells a story. Our journey began in 1967 with a kind, loving, woman named Elaine Braun. At 30 years old, her passion for baking led her to create nine delightful cookie recipes that quickly became the talk of the town in Prairie View, Illinois.
Elaine was not just a mother of three —Thomas, Sharon and, Tim—but also a beloved figure in her family and local community. Her cookies were more than sweet treats; they were expressions of love to her family and community. Christmas, however, was when her magic truly shone, as she and I would bake hundreds of cookies for our family, making our holiday gatherings truly special.
I am Joe Martinis, born to Elaine’s son Tom in 1988. My fondest memories are the Saturdays spent at Grandma's house. From ages three to thirteen, these weekends were filled with the aroma of freshly baked cookies, laughter, and love with my grandmother. Her kitchen was my haven, and her passion for baking became mine.
In 2022, inspired by Elaine’s enduring recipes, I founded Cookie Coma. This company is more than a business; it’s a tribute to my grandmother’s legacy. Our mission is to nurture communities, support aspiring children, and help those in need. We are dedicated to giving back.
Cookie Coma is about creating connections. Our flagship store is envisioned as a warm, inviting space where families and friends can gather and enjoy freshly baked cookies. Our journey is just beginning, and we invite you to be a part of it. Join us at Cookie Coma, where every cookie is baked with love, and every bite brings us closer together. I am grateful to share my family’s legacy. We are dedicated to making the world a better place, one cookie at a time.
Have the Sweetest day! :)
-Joe
